Organizational Change Proposition-Part 2

To go gently into the night is an option often withheld from patients in intensive care units (ICU’s). Palliative care measures, which include comfort care and end-of-life (EOL) therapies, are seldom included in the care plan of dying intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Introducing such measures to the ICU’s of Jacksonville is the purpose of the organizational change project. The following proposal will include the history, mission, vision, goals, and objectives that many facilities strive to achieve. In addition, the description will outline the proposed change, its rationale, and suitability to the organization’s culture. Included in the discussion are the needed steps, change theories, and resources for implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the proposed change as well as plans to measure the outcomes.
